IMAGES:

Two custom-designed white ceramic frit patterns were developed for the façade glazing to suggest the pattern of Louis Vuitton's iconic checkerboard design in the laminated glass for all areas of the glass skin except the window openings, which remain clear. An effect of depth in the pattern is produced by a slight separation between the fritted surfaces, and is maximized by the two layers of low-iron glass being of two different thicknesses. Interplay between the two frit patterns is used to blur the transition between opaque glass and clear glass openings. The system is structurally glazed with triple-laminated, low-iron glass mullions on the interior, allowing the overall frit pattern to be read seamlessly across the façade.

Flagship retail store and corporate offices at the corner of 5th Avenue and 57th Street, including more than 12,000 sq. ft. of custom-designed curtain wall.
