CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION
As a performance contract, the contract for a curtain wall is uniquely different from that for many of the other building systems and requires specialized construction administration experience.
Heintges & Associates consider successful administration of the curtain wall or enclosure subcontract(s) to be dependent on a number of factors, including: a complete set of contract documents, a proper construction contract with the scope of work and all exceptions clearly defined, an understanding of the subcontractor’s strengths and weaknesses, a clear understanding of the role of all parties, and a commitment to the notion that successful realization of the work is dependent in part on an open and honest collaboration between the design team and the industry.
Following the contract award, Heintges will provide technical and quality-control oversight throughout the process, from submittals review, testing, fabrication, and installation, on behalf of the architect and/or owner. Services normally include the following:
