3 PNC Plaza is the latest addition to the site of the two existing towers at PNC Plaza in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. The project is a mix of structurally glazed and captured unitized glazing units, with a combination of structural and decorative exterior trim elements giving the building its overall appearance. The glazing for the office and hotel consists of a green-base glass, the new tower’s dominant visual element, while the floor-to-floor glazing of the upper floors’ condo units consists of clear glass with a separate low-e coating, creating a “floating box” effect that visually differentiates the residential units from the remainder of the building.

Heintges provided building envelope consulting services through all design phases, CDs, and shop drawing review, and periodic installation and onsite review of progress during construction phases.
