Plot 3 at Keppel Bay, located on the shoreline of Singapore’s Keppel Harbour, consists of eleven curved residential villa blocks ranging in height from 21 meters at the harbor front, and progressively rising to 39 meters.

The facade design concept called for doubly ruled surfaces comrpised of 25 unique radii superimposed onto an arced core volume. Through analyzing the achitects design model, Heintges was able to determine that the arcs formed by the radii and resulting double curvature deviated only slightly from a true sinbgle curved surface comrpised of straight lines. Working with the architect a unique, rationalized cladding concept was develped that produced the geometric expression the architect desired but with a single curved surface comprised of flat units and standardized anchorage.  As maximizing exterior views towards the harbour was a key directive of the client, the project incorporates large glass sizes with structurally minimized mullions, sloped glass guardrails at the angular balconies, and oversized sliding glass doors at balcony thresholds.

Heintges provided building envelope consulting services during all phases of design and construction.
