Within the landmark Texas Medical Center (TMC) Helix Park BioResearch Campus in Houston, Texas, Dynamic One is a state-of-the-art biomedical research facility that exemplifies a sophisticated integration of high-performance envelope systems and architectural expression. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and built by facade contractor Harmon, the twelve-story building features a custom unitized curtain wall system developed in close collaboration with Heintges.
The building envelope, which incorporates a high-performance glazed curtain wall articulated with projecting fins, horizontal sunshades, and custom-profiled mullions is designed to optimize daylighting, glare control, and energy performance in the challenging Gulf Coast climate while supporting the architectural goals of transparency, depth, and visual rhythm. Heintges supported the development of custom details, including curved sunshades and trellises, which enhance the facade’s dimensionality and contribute to the building’s identity within the Texas Medical Center campus.
Heintges provided comprehensive design and technical consulting services throughout all phases of design and construction.
