Tarrant County College, located on the shoreline of Fort Worth’s Trinity River, is part of the revitalization of the city’s largely neglected urban waterfront. Currently in the first phase of a larger master plan, the project seeks to link and physically bridge downtown Fort Worth with the Trinity River through a carefully configured series of buildings that descend down the bluff that separates the city from the water.

The buildings, organized around a central pedestrian axis, are enclosed primarily by precast concrete and glass. The orientation of the buildings allows for an exchange between the opacity and transparency of the enclosure materials while directing views alternately toward the center of campus and across the river.

Heintges provided building envelope and curtain wall consulting services during all phases of design and construction.
