Designed by Snohetta, the West 66th Street Tower is a residential skyscraper that marks the northward expansion of Manhattan’s “billionaire’s row” along the western edge of Central Park. The 850-foot-tall tower features two major unitized curtain wall systems. Lower floors are clad in Portuguese Crème Sintra Limestone, bronze-painted trim, and low-e coated insulating glass, while the slender tower features floor-to-ceiling glazing, custom profile wedge-shaped mullions, and exterior “picture frame” trim. The project’s low-e coating was custom developed in Germany exclusively for the aesthetic and performance requirements of this project and is among the first buildings in the U.S. to do so.
Sections of the tower and podium volumes are carved away and clad in bronze-painted extruded aluminum louver screens accentuated with integrated lighting. A breathtaking terrace at the 16th floor provides un-matched amenities and views to residents.
